As a key member of the care team, the PMHNP-BC will play a crucial role in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children and adolescents with various mental health disorders. The ideal C/A Nurse Practitioner will possess expertise in psychiatric nursing, a deep understanding of developmental stages, and a commitment to delivering patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations to assess the mental health status of children and adolescents.
Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, adjusting dosage and treatment plans as necessary.
Maintain open and effective communication with patients, families, and external stakeholders.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and legal requirements.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall delivery of mental health services.
Requirements
Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a focus on psychiatric/mental health nursing.
Current and valid Nurse Practitioner NP license and Registered Nurse RN in Massachusetts.
Certification as a Child Adolescent Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
Experience working in a psychiatric hospital or similar setting with children and adolescents.
