We are seeking an experienced Nurse Leader who will take ownership of the hospice service line’s initiatives to elevate patient care and safety standards. The RN Director will have the opportunity to drive impactful quality improvements and shape the future of hospice care for patients and families across New York City.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for clinical operations of Hospice Services including patient safety initiatives, quality assurance, and performance improvement activities, including audits and practice oversight.
- Monitor, coordinate, and oversee field nurse managers, intake staff, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure appropriate admission, plan of care, and safe transition. Identify and recommend improvement opportunities.
- Participate in hiring, firing, and performance reviews, as well as facilitate the successful orientation, training, and evaluation of hospice team members.
- Monitor daily staffing practices, planning, and project management for improvement initiatives.
- Respond to patient and family concerns, implement actions to enhance care, and ensure patients’ 24/7 needs are met.
- Adhere to legal and ethical standards, compliance, and code of conduct.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York.
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a related field.
- Experienced Nurse Leader with a minimum of 5 years within Hospice, Home Care, and/or Palliative Care.
- A visionary, collaborative leader with a strong understanding of healthcare regulations and quality standards.
- A passion for patient care and a dedication to improving outcomes for hospice patients and their families.
