The ARRA Group, a boutique healthcare recruitment firm, is working closely with an award-winning Hospital to hire a Licensed Behavioral Health Psychiatric Clinician to provide crisis intervention and psychiatric assessment services in the Emergency Department.
The Emergency Department is a critical entry point for individuals seeking immediate psychiatric care. This position requires a solid commitment to delivering timely, trauma-informed care to individuals experiencing acute psychiatric distress and facilitating appropriate referrals for ongoing treatment and support.
Responsibilities
Conduct rapid psychiatric assessments of patients presenting to the Emergency Department with acute mental health concerns, including suicidality, psychosis, substance use disorders, and other psychiatric emergencies.
Collaborate with medical providers, nurses, and crisis intervention teams to triage patients and develop individualized crisis intervention plans to ensure patient safety and stabilization.
Provide crisis counseling, de-escalation techniques, and brief supportive interventions to patients and their families following best practices and evidence-based guidelines.
Liaise with community mental health resources, crisis hotlines, and inpatient psychiatric facilities to facilitate timely referrals and arrange appropriate levels of care for patients requiring ongoing treatment and support.
Requirements
Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Connecticut.
Experience providing crisis intervention and psychiatric assessment services in an emergency department or similar setting.
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, proficient in conducting rapid psychiatric assessments and formulating crisis intervention plans.
