The ARRA Group, a boutique healthcare recruitment firm, is working closely with an award-winning Hospital and seeking a skilled and dedicated Licensed Behavioral Health Psychiatric Clinician to provide utilization and case management services in the Emergency Department setting.
The ideal candidate will hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree and possess licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Connecticut. This position requires a strong background in behavioral health assessment, treatment planning, and utilization management to ensure efficient resource utilization and high-quality care to individuals in crisis.
Responsibilities
Conduct concurrent utilization reviews to assess the medical necessity and appropriateness of psychiatric admissions, treatment modalities, and lengths of stay, per regulatory guidelines and payer requirements.
Advocate for patients’ access to appropriate levels of care and coordinate referrals to community-based resources, including outpatient mental health services, substance abuse treatment programs, and social support services.
Provide crisis intervention, brief counseling, and supportive services to patients and their families to address immediate needs and facilitate linkage to ongoing care upon discharge from the Emergency Department.
Collaborate with insurance companies, managed care organizations, and external review agencies to facilitate authorization for psychiatric services, address utilization management issues, and ensure compliance with reimbursement criteria.
Document all utilization and case management activities accurately and in a timely manner, utilizing electronic health record systems and other documentation tools as required by organizational policies and regulatory standards.
Requirements
Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Connecticut.
